I sometime wear a broken watch. I tried to repair it once but the watch-lady said it would be difficult. Her un-helpfulness gave me a moment of pause. That was two years ago.
The watch was given to me by mother and looks good on my wrist beside the diamond-clustered pinky-ring that belonged to my pop. I wear them both when properly attired.
While pondering points of grammar in Ms Yang's Chinese course, I glanced down and noticed the timepiece stuck at 9:03.
The classroom clock also read 9:03. For an instant I thought my precious watch was working again!
Not at all.
This morning's coincidence was a subtle reminder that, no matter the time, there's always more to life than meets the eye.
